Three Years

Yesterday we celebrated three years of marriage!

It seems like each wedding anniversary has found our lives different and in a new phase. Most notably this year, we have a new family member, Avie P. I love our anniversary because it's about us. And honestly we don't have much time to focus on "us" these days, so yesterday was really enjoyable. As a surprise for Kyle, I bought this frame from an adorable retired couple at the farmers market to frame one of our wedding pictures.  They make these frames themselves and I think they are just beautiful. I also am having something made for us that I will share once it's completed. Stay tuned for that...

I was pleasantly surprised to receive this beautiful bouquet yesterday when I was trying to get the kids and myself ready for the evening. The kids were just as excited as me, which was fun.
My mom watched all three kids for us so we could enjoy the evening together. I've had a gift certificate from my parents and Ashley to The Art Bash Studio for almost a year, so we decided to give it a try. We were rushed for time and we had to quickly grab dinner at Panera which was slightly disappointing, but still delicious.  The art thing ended up being a blast! I would recommend it to anyone! A really nice girl walked us through each step of the painting, helping and giving tips along the way. I seriously want to start painting more after this experience!

We drank sangria, ate popcorn and just forgot about the outside world for 2.5 hours and painted. It was so fun to be creative and spend time together doing something we've never done before. I hope we can make it back again someday. I love comparing our two paintings because I feel like you can see the differences in our personalities when comparing the differences. We balance each other out-- and you can totally see that!!

It's been an amazing three years and I love you, Kyle!
Keep the tradition going and check out our wedding slideshow again :)

"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013"

Cambria: She's been wearing that bathing suit since she was 1, as you can tell...
Ezra: Buried in the sand for the first time.
Avett: You can really see his looks in the picture.

Four months!

FOUR months!

Avett is officially 4 months old and growing and changing so much.

He nurses on demand but I *think* it ends up being every 2-3 hours or so during the day and 1-3 times every night.  I honestly never really think about feeding him, it just happens naturally as I instinctively know when he needs to eat.

He still loves to be worn.

He is just starting to grab toys/objects.

His 3 months clothes are getting small and I think we will be moving up in size soon.

He is so smiley and happy all the time. He cried more during the first three months, but recently has stopped doing that and is generally very happy and giggly when he's awake.

He naps SO easily during the day. I will notice when he starts getting tired and take him back to our bed and either nurse him or give him his pacifier and a blanket and within a minute he's out.

He also goes to sleep for the night easily. I will nurse him for a few minutes then he breaks the latch and just falls asleep. I loooooove him for this!

Cambria and Ezra love love love Avett and are so happy to see him every morning when they wake up.

Avett is never really content laying on the floor by himself or in his bouncy seat so he's usually being held by someone or in the Ergo.  Kyle and I are totally fine with this.

Sadly almost all of his beautiful hair has fallen out.

He is bathed about once or twice a week.

Lots of people say he looks just like Cambria.

I have a hard time remembering how our life was without him.

I love him to pieces and can't believe he's been here four months already!
