A gorilla and a plastic pumpkin

Cambria FINALLY has a costume for Halloween.  After much debate and deliberation, it has been decided that she is going to be a CAT!!! Tonight we ventured into Savannah to find the necessary parts for her costume and found everything except a black onesie/leotard.  That's going to be tomorrow's mission.  But one thing we DID discover tonight is that Cammy is completely TERRIFIED of most everything Halloween.  She was very anxious the whole time we were in party city and even started crying at one point... This is making me weary of how trick-or-treating is going to be, but we'll see!  Here is my favorite picture from the day....
Yes, that is me, chasing Cambria down the candy aisle in Target, wearing a gorilla costume.  And yes, that is her trick-or-treating plastic pumpkin that she just LOVES.

I am excited for the festivities to begin!!! We're going to a pumpkin patch Friday, carving the pumpkins on Saturday, and taking Cam out for some candiessssss on Saturday. Tis going to be a good time.

A new talent

Cambria has learned a new talent.  She was taught this great new talent by her Aunt Katie.  Well, she has been doing it ever since they hung out together for a little while one afternoon so I am giving Katie credit.

Do you wanna know what it is?!?!?!?

Cambria has learned the art of smiling for the camera...okay, so it's not really a talent, more of a copying of all us big people.  It's the cutest thing ever and even though I'm sure every kid does it at some point in their toddlerhood, I think Cambria's big smile is the best one yet.

See for yourself....
Smiling for the computer screen.
Chillin' in her car seat.
What a cutie in her pretty green dress.
Playing in the foam playground at the mallwhich Kyle and I have concluded is too
                               dangerous...for now.
I can't get enough of this big toothy grin.

Man, that face makes me sooooooo excited to see what baby (girl) #2 will look like.  No, we aren't finding out the sex, but I am convinced this little one is a girl too.  If it's not, I will freak, but I'm pretty darn sure it is.  I guess we'll have to wait and seeeee!!!

Everyone's favorite night

It was an exciting night tonight at the Congdon/Finnegan household...........
EGGPLANT PARMESAN night.

The peeps around here go crazy for this stuff. It's made from just a few simple ingredients but requires about 2 hours of undivided attention (Cam must be taking a nap while I'm cooking). Kyle originally started making the dish last winter, but since I'm the stay-at-home mommy now I do most of the cooking. It's become a family (Congdon and Finnegan) favorite ever since. We found the original recipe here, but we've kinda made it our own. If you've never tried this amazing dish you're missing out--- so you should!

Changes, changes

We have a few exciting things happening with our little Finnegan family.

1- We are currently transitioning from a family of 3 to a family of 4!!!!! Yep, we're expecting another little muffin on or around the 24th of February. The two childrens will be 18 months apart..it's going to be fuuuun! I'm excited :)

Taken on 9/17/10- 17 weeks 1 Day

2- Our first home is now under contract! We looked at lots of houses in Richmond Hill and the surrounding area, but we think we've found a match for us. It's a short-sale and is located on a huge lot WITH a lagoon in the backyard! The house is a definite investment and is located in a neighborhood Kyle and I would not be able to afford under normal circumstances. We're still in the beginning phases but hope to be in by....Christmas?!?!

The Kitchen and informal dining area.

3- Kyle surprised me with a trip to NYC! He came home from work one day and handed me the airplane tickets. I was shocked!!! What a sweetie I have!!! :D Our adventure will take place from Nov 11th-Nov 14th. Stay tuned for pictures.......!

4- NO progress has been made on Cambria's quilt. I have had all of the blocks done for about 2 months..one of these days...

The blocks :)
