Ezra Reading!

I took this video of Ezra THREE months ago and I've been wanting to share it for a while, but I just haven't yet for some reason. That sort of seems to be the theme of my life these days. Wanting to get "things" done and never being able to do said "things" because I'm busy doing all the "things" I have to do every day. It's pretty much an endless cycle. But anyway, this video is so so precious! My Ezra is so so precious. He loves Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? just like Cambria did. It's a great book for non-readers because it's repetitive and easy to memorize which gives the kids such excitement and confidence when they can "read" it on their own. Books are my kid's favorite and I swear they learn half of the things they know from them.

He's already turned into the middle child who sometimes gets lost in the shuffle, so I savor any alone time the two of us have. He was reading the pages to himself over and over so I picked up the camera to record a little bit. I love his feet and I love that he thinks the frog is missing before it magically appears again.

Cambria read this same book in this video. And I just realized that they were very close in age when these videos were taken. Ezra 25 months, Cambria 26 months.

My everyday Kroger experience

A few weeks ago my sister put up a video of my niece Raya that she took at Trader Joes.
I loved the video of Raya and laughed to myself thinking about the difference between my experiences at the grocery store with Cambria and Ezra.
So I took a video when we were at Kroger the other day and I think it captured the event perfectly.
Please note Ezra's outfit, I let him pick out his clothes that day.

I'll be back soon with pictures from Cambria's birthday party this past weekend!

Talking Boy

I think Ezra turned 1 and then decided he wanted to start speaking, and I don't think having an older sibling is inhibiting his language development at all. {I've heard that it can because the older sibling is always talking for the younger one}  In fact, I think it's having the opposite effect.  When Ezra and Cambria play together I will hear him mock so many words and sounds she makes.  At this point, she's helping him along, but who knows, maybe it will change.  I took this video of him and I think it captures his current personality and lifestyle perfectly.  Cruising along but not walking yet, saying some words and sounds, extremely interested in exploring the world around him, and sometimes having some anger. {notice how he gets mad at his shoes} He hasn't really started doing many signs yet, but when he does I'll try and capture that as well.  So far he's signed "all done", "eat", and I think today he made up his own for" balloon" by pointing to the ceiling and saying "bbbbbaa".  Anyway, here's my little man being all cute saying "daaaaaaaddy" and "uh-oh"

Ezra's army man crawl

Here's a video from today featuring Ezra and his cute little crawl.
Cambria never crawled so this making-it-across-the-room-in-two-seconds-thing is all new to me.

This Morning

Most mornings I walk into Cambria's room after I've heard her talking and singing on her monitor for a few minutes. The first thing she does EVERY morning, without fail, is make her "eat" sign. The girl is hungry when she wakes up!  I like to give her a little time to wake up and get her mind going. Sometimes I have Ezra in tow with me and sometimes he keeps snoozing a little longer than us.  This morning Cambria slept in until almost 10:30!!! We're a bit off schedule with everything we've been doing lately and she was up until almost 11:00 the night before watching the American Idol finale.  Anyway, this morning Ezra was up before Cam and I was able to have some one-on-one time with him.  Once we heard her we headed into her room and the three of us hung out for a little while before getting breakfast.  I took a few pictures and a video to capture the moment.  These precious mornings will pass all too quickly.
Cambria's idea of playing is reading books.  She usually plays with very few of her toys.

Notice who Ezra is watching in both the photos. :) He <3's his big sis.

My pretty girl.

And my handsome man.

Baby feet.

Books, books, books.
Cambria is currently learning her letters.  She's in the early stages, but is really catching on fast.  This video is just precious.  The development of the human brain at this stage is absolutely amazing. Cambria will hear something once and remember it, it amazes me every single day.

I was letting her "read" the book on her own and I was impressed by how many letters she said, even though she didn't identify many of them correctly.. :)
