Three Years

Yesterday we celebrated three years of marriage!

It seems like each wedding anniversary has found our lives different and in a new phase. Most notably this year, we have a new family member, Avie P. I love our anniversary because it's about us. And honestly we don't have much time to focus on "us" these days, so yesterday was really enjoyable. As a surprise for Kyle, I bought this frame from an adorable retired couple at the farmers market to frame one of our wedding pictures.  They make these frames themselves and I think they are just beautiful. I also am having something made for us that I will share once it's completed. Stay tuned for that...

I was pleasantly surprised to receive this beautiful bouquet yesterday when I was trying to get the kids and myself ready for the evening. The kids were just as excited as me, which was fun.
My mom watched all three kids for us so we could enjoy the evening together. I've had a gift certificate from my parents and Ashley to The Art Bash Studio for almost a year, so we decided to give it a try. We were rushed for time and we had to quickly grab dinner at Panera which was slightly disappointing, but still delicious.  The art thing ended up being a blast! I would recommend it to anyone! A really nice girl walked us through each step of the painting, helping and giving tips along the way. I seriously want to start painting more after this experience!

We drank sangria, ate popcorn and just forgot about the outside world for 2.5 hours and painted. It was so fun to be creative and spend time together doing something we've never done before. I hope we can make it back again someday. I love comparing our two paintings because I feel like you can see the differences in our personalities when comparing the differences. We balance each other out-- and you can totally see that!!

It's been an amazing three years and I love you, Kyle!

Two years

Yesterday Kyle and I celebrated two years of marriage!

Two years seems like so long ago. We only had Cambria, we were just graduating from school, and we were in the process of moving to Richmond Hill.  Lots has happened since May 30, 2010.

Yesterday started out normal until Kyle surprised me with flowers at the Mommy Bootcamp class I do at Forsyth Park.  It was such a genuinely nice thing for him to do and I had to try and hold back a few tears.  Kyle can be so sweet to me and I really appreciate it when he does special things like that. We got some pizza at Your Pie for lunch and it was delicious.

Little did Kyle know, I had a surprise in the works for him as well.  I asked one of his friends/co-workers Jason to take us on a short airplane ride.  Jason flies planes as a hobby and he's a nice guy so I figured he wouldn't mind, which he didn't. :) After leaving the kids with Mimi, I texted Kyle right as he was leaving work to meet me at the address of where the plane was.  He was so surprised to see me and Jason there waiting for him.  We took a short flight around Savannah and got to see downtown and Tybee.  I'm not a huge airplane person so I was a nervous wreck the entire time and asked a million stupid questions.  Let's just say I breathed a huge sigh of relief once we were back on land.  Jason was an excellent pilot and I was so appreciative that he did this for us.

After the flight, we got dinner at Leoci's.  This too was an amazing meal, definitely recommend it.
I got Kyle two ties as well
So overall the day was perfect and Kyle and I both enjoyed celebrating it together.  I'm so happy to be experiencing life with such a kind, patient and understanding person. I love you Kyle! <3

And just for fun, here's the wedding slideshow from our wedding.

One Year

Last spring, Kyle and I began talking about gettin' hitched. From the beginning of my pregnancy with Cambria we knew we didn't want to get married just because I was pregnant.  We wanted to get married for us, not our baby.  And frankly, we didn't care much about what others thought.  And then last spring, with our graduations approaching and a move to Savannah in our near future, we began to feel we were ready and excited to take that next step. Neither of us like a lot of attention and we didn't like the idea of spending thousands on one day.  So after some serious discussing and researching, we decided we wanted to have an elopement of sorts. We searched for the perfect place to have our wedding and finally decided on Asheville, North Carolina, a place we had visited together for our dating anniversary during my pregnancy with Cambria.

So, we secretly took a trip to Asheville and found the perfect place and officiant for our ceremony. Then for the next two weeks we spent our days running around trying to get all the details taken care of.  We had to find a dress, find a suit, and tell our closest friends and family of our plans--all in addition to many other small details. The day finally came and it ended up being a beautiful, romantic, and perfect celebration of our love and the life we'd created together. And coincidentally, our Ezra likely began his journey through life on our wedding day.  He was created from our love on that very special day.

So now it's been one year.
One year with lots of excitement and happenings.
A move, a new job, a 9 month stay with my parents, a pregnancy, a new baby boy, a house, and much more.  I wonder if every year will be this eventful...
I can only hope!

Happy 1st Anniversary Kyle Patrick Finnegan!
I love you and appreciate all that you do for me and our children.
I will always strive to decorate my soul <3
