The Best Day

Tuesday was one of the best days. One of those days filled with just pure joy and happiness. Everything went smoothly, everyone was in good spirits, and we were spontaneous. It was perfection! The weather was beautiful, so Amber and I decided to make the most of the gorgeous day with a trip to Oatland Island for their Toddler Tuesday program. I love Oatland Island because it has such a natural, loving atmosphere. The program that day was about butterflies and their life cycle. Cambria and Ezra enjoyed listening to the songs and books and had fun doing the crafts. After the program, we ventured out to explore the animals and the trails.
Super Aunt :)

There were TONS of kids!
sharing a banana with sister
and sharing an apple with brother
butterfly craft time!

my whole heart right there <3
the wolves were super active, it was awesome!
Nursin' in the Ergo, what's new? :)
As we we were driving back through downtown Savannah the atmosphere felt so fun and there were tons of people, so we decided to hangout longer and get some pizza at Vinnie's. Vinnie's didn't open until 4, so we walked to see the green fountains to pass the time. Savannah around St Patrick's Day is just buzzing with excitement!  The kids LOVE being downtown. So much to see, hear and do! After pizza, the kids wanted to play in the fountains in Ellis Square. Luckily I had some extra clothes in the car. :) After the fountain, we enjoyed some gelato while we danced and listened to live music. It was the perfect end to the day. Ezra and Avett fell asleep in about two seconds and Cambria chatted the whole way home, typical.
the green fountain was very tempting for Ezra

can you spot Cambria and Ezra?!
Ezra was SO cold, but continued to play anyway

Something I want to remember from the day--While we were in the bathroom together, Ezra and I were talking about babies and growing up and I said to him "Ezra, now you are a kid and maybe one day you'll grow to be an adult!" to which he replied so genuinely, "I want to be a Dad."  It was so  sweet. I think I'll always remember it. <3 I loved spending the day my babies and my little sissy Amber, it was the best!

Cambria's special day

Since we have three kids, sometimes it's hard to give them each the individual attention we would love to give.  I make a conscious effort to connect with each of them and stay in tuned with their needs and wants, but honestly, it's a challenge. So we decided to begin a tradition of having a "special day" for each of them every so often. Just a day to remind them that they are special and loved. Cambria's day was first.  She's the only one who, at this point, really cares about this new idea anyway.

A few weeks ago we saw a commercial for an Alice in Wonderland ballet production coming to Savannah and we knew she would love to go. My mom watched the boys and we ended having a wonderful evening downtown. Dinner at Vinnie's, a little shopping at Anthropologie, and then the ballet. I could feel the happiness radiating from her. I think she loved being alone with Mommy and Daddy and having our undivided attention.

she ate most of that gigantic piece!
so so good!

excited about some new, pretty bowls

2012 Heart of Savannah 5k

Kyle and I have run the Heart of Savannah 5k for the past two years and successfully continued the tradition this year.  The course starts and ends at Forsyth Park and travels around several squares downtown, it's a pretty run. Cambria also ran the kiddie 1/4 mile run last year and ran it again this year along with Ezra. Except Ezra wasn't exactly in running condition due to his injured leg from a slide accident a few weeks prior.  We made it to the race just in time for the start of the kiddie run, typical us. :) Cambria was nervous in the beginning and wanted my mom to hold her, but about halfway through she got into running mode and became serious about reaching the finish line. They both got medals at the end and were very excited about that.
Cambria and Grandma rounding the corner to the finish line.
I carried Ezra the whole way. Definitely got me warmed up for the race!
Post race, with their medals.
Kyle starting.
Mesmerized watching all the runners with Grandma. Thanks for coming with us Mom!
Heading in to the finish.
Chris ran it too! Yes, those are the shoes Kyle runs in.
Ezra loves his Uncle Chris :)
They both wanted to be held by Grandma and Cambria is picking her nose. haha
I've managed to place in my age group the last two years, but didn't manage it this year at almost 23 weeks pregnant. My times for the last three years: 25:18 in 2010 (I was pregnant for Ezra during this one), 24:54 in 2011, and 29:33 in 2012. Overall happy with myself! Kyle has improved his time by more than two minutes every year, I'm so proud of him! Hopefully we'll be able to keep up the tradition next year!
