trick-or-treating dis year

Halloween 2011
Holidays make it easy to compare how things were different in years passed.
Last year we only had one kid outta the womb.
She looked like this...

And we had one kid in da womb.
He looked like this...

This year those kids looked like this...

We had a Tangled, a.k.a. Rapunzel.
{despite all attempts to convince her to be something other than a princess}

And we had a doggy...

We've been talking about this day forever and it didn't disappoint.
Well, for Cambria anyway.
Ezra was kinda tired and miserable towards then end...
Of course, Cambria only wanted Casey to take her to the doors.

We had a bit of a mob for just one trick-or-treater.

Cambria made out with waaaaay too much candy which Kyle and I will probably end up eating.

And Ezra was a good sport, like always.

And some of us actually did get to take Cambria up to a few houses.
{you so can't tell my mom and I are related in this one..}

 And Mimi!

And we did get a family pic in front of our home.

I made Cambria's wig using this tutorial
It takes waaaay more time that you would think and it's reeeeally hard keeping the yarn from getting...tangled. haha
Tonight I concluded that watching your own child run from house to house in excitement is lots more fun than being a kid yourself.
Happy Halloween :)

Our Reader

Cambria reading to Ezra.
Proud mama moment right here.

p.s. Ezra is obviously verrrrrrrry tired.  Poor little guy passed out immediately after this.

Welcoming Fall

We're welcoming fall with open arms around these parts.
Cooler weather
Pumpkin cookies, pie, and lattes
Halloween
Pumpkin pickin'
Hayrides
...enough said.

So I decided to get our house ready for the new season.
I figure if I make a few new decorations each year, over time, I'll build a big collection.
First I made a wreath for our front door because I've been wanting to make one since we moved in.
I like giving people something pretty to look at when they come over for a visit.
my little man playing with the wreath before it was finished
I just googled "fall yarn wreath" and used examples I saw as inspiration.
I just wrapped a foam wreath with yarn, wrapped a twig with yarn, made circles from long pieces of felt and then glued it all together.  So simple.
And here's one of our front door with the wreath, our Halloween mat and the pumpkin Cambria picked out at Krogs.

This season is the first time I've decorated our mantel and I love how it turned out.

I went with a fall theme instead of Halloween so I could keep it up until Christmas time.
Used inspiration from this tutorial to make the branches.
That tall tree looking thing is actually a Christmas decoration, but I just wrapped orange yarn around it to make it work for the fall.
Again, this wreath was created for Christmas, but I think it works for the fall as well.
Followed this tutorial to make a felt leaf garland.  I'm so pleased with how it turned out.  I have lots of leaves left over, so I plan to make more for other places around the house.
I got the window frame as a gift from my sister Ashley last Christmas and thought it made a nice fall-looking backdrop.
Got this garland on super sale last year.
And I decorated the dining room table with a pumpkin which was also purchased on super sale last year and some of the beautiful, crazy-fast growing flowers from our garden.
Best part of it all, I spent no more than $10 on everything. Wooooo!
Fall makes me happy.

Good today: Cambria said bye to her pacifier forever and did SO WELL.  We walked outside to the trash bin, threw her pacifiers in, and that was that.  She wanted to look at them every time we went outside, but I didn't mind because she wasn't putting up a fight about it whatsoever.  I'm a proud mama!  AND she said "I love you" several times unprompted.  sweetest.thing.ever
Bad today: Kyle had to work mandatory overtime AND has to go in tomorrow again.  Sucks :/

Ezra's army man crawl

Here's a video from today featuring Ezra and his cute little crawl.
Cambria never crawled so this making-it-across-the-room-in-two-seconds-thing is all new to me.

This weekend

This weekend we...

Took a ride on the Savannah Slow Ride.
 What is that you ask?
It's a bar, on wheels, powered by the pedaling of the passengers.
Yes, it's as awesome and fun as that sounds.
We went with people from Kyle's work.
We made about 5 stops along the way and hit up a different bar at each stop.
It was such a fun night.
Our friends Miguel and Laura.
Kyle's work buddies.
Then on Friday Ezra ate breakfast in style.
Then the babies and I took a trip to Statesboro to visit Aunt Casey for the day.
{Kyle painted our bathroom}
 We ate amazing pizza.
Then took a dip in her apartment's pool.

Look!! Cambria kinda looks like me!
BFF's

That night I took a picture of Ezra exactly like one we have of Cambria.

And then on Saturday we went to the "pumpkin patch" at Gregory Park.
Cambria insisted on using her umbrella.
Then we headed to Gulfstream's Family Day with my parents.
We all ate and drank lots of junk.
Cambria drank TWO {!!!!!} sprites.
 We saw some animals.
  Ate more junk.
Took another one of these pictures.
Went on a tour and saw some airplanes.
We rode rides.
 Love this picture!
Then we came home and ate pizza and pancakes for dinner.

On Sunday I ran 18 {!!!!!!!!!!!} miles
Kyle ran his 7 {go Kyle!}
And then we did things around the house and went to Carrabbas for dinner.
Yum.

It was a good weekend!
Hope yours was too.
